2017-2018 CALS Dissertation Fellow and Summer Graduate Fellow

Jace Gatzemeyer was awarded the 2017 CALS Summer Graduate Fellowship and the 2017-2018 CALS Dissertation Support Award. Jace specializes in late-19th- and early 20th-century American fiction and is writing a dissertation on what he argues is the intricate and frequently misunderstood relationship between American modernism and regionalism

2017-2018 CALS Training Institute Winners

Yi-Ting Chang, for the Futures of American Studies Institute, Dartmouth College

Leland Tabares was accepted to the 2017 Futures of American Studies Institute at Dartmouth College, for which he received a CALS Graduate Award for a Research or Training Seminar to fund his participation in the institute. At this summer's institute he will present research from his ongoing dissertation project focused on "the institutional, ideological, and cultural formations that legitimate Asian American working professionals in contemporary labor economies."
